Drs. Thomas J. Rolfes, Christina T. Do, Timothy J. Rolfes, and Pravay Padia of Smiles4OC in Costa Mesa, California want to help beautify your smile and your overall appearance with cosmetic dentistry. A smile always leaves a lasting impression. We believe that your appearance is an integral part to your dental treatment in the Newport Beach area. Restoring oral health and functionality is our primary purpose of dentistry, but it can go hand in hand with the esthetics. Dental problems that may include uneven or misaligned teeth, protruding jaw, bite problems, or a chipped tooth, will not only enhance your appearance, but also helps greatly in the normal functioning of the mouth when fixed. When you know you look great, you feel confident and self-assured.

We all want attractive, beautiful teeth for a striking smile. Delivering that striking smile is our specialty. Our doctors, Drs. Thomas J. Rolfes, Christina T. Do, Timothy J. Rolfes, and Pravay Padia continually update their cosmetic training to bring you the most current methods and technologies available.

Cosmetic dentistry may be as simple as repairing a single, damaged tooth, or as involved as full mouth reconstruction. Regardless of the procedure, you will receive the utmost attention to detail.

We can help you attain dramatically whiter teeth as quickly as one brief in-office visit, or with an at-home system.

Composite resin bonding in a shade to match your natural teeth (a direct restoration completed in our office) can be used to repair tooth structure or reshape a tooth. It is a less expensive alternative to porcelain veneers. The resin will often last a few years and can be easily placed (or replaced) in just one dental visit at Smiles4OC.
Porcelain veneers are a type of indirect restoration (fabricated off-site at a lab). The dental veneer is a porcelain laminate that is bonded to the tooth surface to repair cracks and chips and will improve areas of discoloration of the teeth or an overall worn appearance to the smile. Veneers may also be suggested to you if you have gaps in your teeth or have been unsuccessful in brightening the teeth with professional teeth whitening. These restorations are common for patients who need to address imperfections on the anterior (front) teeth. Many patients love the ease of having porcelain veneers on their smile to improve its look. A crown made of porcelain or gold restores a badly damaged tooth to its natural strength and function. Crowns are used in a variety of dental situations and are common for many of our patients. These restorations are also referred to as dental “caps” and cover teeth to improve strength, function, aesthetics, or to protect the tooth from further damage.
An inlay or onlay is also known as an indirect filling. These restorations are made from composite materials or porcelain to provide a long-lasting and cosmetic method of treating an area that has experienced structural damage such as cavities. It is created in a dental laboratory and is then fitted into place by the dentist.
A missing or lost tooth can be replaced with a permanent bridge which the artificial tooth is anchored to the crowns on each side. The bridge is a more permanent option than a partial denture but not as expensive or invasive as a dental implant. This is a great “middle of the road” option for patients who are interested in addressing tooth loss.
Missing teeth can also be replaced with dental implants. They provide a beautiful smile and prevent bone loss. Dental implants are considered the “gold standard” in tooth replacement because they are permanent, often lasting a lifetime with proper care.
Invisalign® is a clear, comfortable, removable orthodontic alternative to metal brackets and wires. We use this system to straighten teeth and correct your bite. The treatment time can be as short as six months. Patients who comply with treatment will enhance their smiles without conventional braces. This is best for patients who have mild to moderate misalignment of the teeth or bite and comply with treatment as directed. This discreet treatment is often preferred over the alternative, however, patients with more severe cases may require conventional braces.
Full mouth reconstruction is to primarily improve the function of the smile. It may be necessary not only to correct issues regarding function but also appearance. Problems may occur with the bone structure, the muscles, the teeth, or the bite that can be corrected with full mouth reconstruction. The materials used in full mouth reconstruction provide functional, durable, and clinically sound solutions that look and feel natural. Most of these treatments can be completed in just a few visits over several weeks.

Hi I am Audrey Haze and I am here today to tell you a little bit about why I came here to Smiles for OC and Dr. Rolfes so here is my story. I went to a different dentist got some other dental work done to improve my smile and I found that the work that was done was not to my satisfaction – I did not have a natural-looking smile and the product that they used was not as durable and so I came to Dr. Rolfes as a recommendation from my boss and they did a phenomenal job on my smile. as a matter of fact, a friend just saw it a couple of days ago and she said you just look dazzling, you look wonderful and as I looked in the mirror what I saw was my own natural original smile from years and years ago that I was born with s I am really happy to recommend Dr. Rolfes and his wonderful staff – they are all tremendous when I came in they made sure that I was calm they were able to use the right kind of medication to put me to sleep or put me into a wonderful dreamland that I had no problems with as I came out of the anesthesia and it was very simple and very easy and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to improve their smile and improve their dental health and just get back to the smile they were born with – thank you.
