Dear Smiles4OC patients,

Dentists in California have been asked by the California Dental Association to voluntarily suspend nonessential or non-urgent dental care until further notice.

CDA does not make this request lightly and it is being done out of an abundance of caution during this historic public health emergency. At Smiles4OC we have decided to comply with this request to do our part in "flattening the curve” in order to follow sound, scientific public health advice to help limit infections and slow the spread of the virus. CDA also believes that by taking these extraordinary precautions dentists can make a difference in helping to preserve the limited supply of personal protective equipment critical for emergency dental care and frontline health care of personnel responding to the pandemic.

We are uncertain as to when we will be back to work. We are available for emergencies. Patients can call 714-557-0700 or email with any questions or concerns. We are confident we have a very safe environment to treat our patients. However, you must call first as walk-ins will not be seen without an appointment.

Please practice safety, take care of yourselves and your family. And let us know how we can help.

SMILE4OC Dr.Tim Rolfes Dr. Timothy J. Rolfes
Tim Rolfes earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration at the University of Southern California in 2012. After spending the next year working as a full time intern at Smiles4OC, Tim returned to the University of Southern California's Ostrow School of Dentistry where he earned his DDS degree (Doctor of Dental Surgery). During his four years at USC Dental, Tim found a passion in community dentistry. He had the opportunity to volunteer and provide dental care to underserved communities in the Philippines, Belize, and Cambodia through the Dental Humanitarian Outreach Program. He is also a core member of the USC Mobile Clinic, which provides dentistry to rural communities with limited or no access to dental care, throughout all of California. He regularly volunteers at the JWCH Institute and provides dental care to the predominantly homeless population on Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles. Tim has now joined the Smiles4OC team as a licensed dentist and is excited to be practicing full time and furthering his passion for dentistry.

What got Dr. Rolfes into Dentistry?

Dr. Rolfes started working at his Dad's Dental Clinic halfway through his undergraduate degree in Business School, as a summer job and found that he really liked it. He had his first actual experience in Dentistry while working for his Dad and he learned so much since then, which made his transition from Dental School to Dentistry much more easier.

Today, SMILES4OC in Costa Mesa, California has a good team with years of experience along with great Mentors, his Dad, Dr. Rolfes, Dr. Do and Dr. Dunne.

Dr. Rolfes says it's been great to learn and work with them. Schedule an appointment today with Dr. Rolfes at SMILES4OC. Costa Mesa Dental Office looks forward to make you smile.
I was halfway through my undergraduate degree in business school. At the point, I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do long term and I also needed a summer job.

So in between my 2nd and 3rd year at college, I started working at my dad's dental office and really liked it. I always liked all the people here. It was my first actual experience in dentistry.

From there I really took a liking to it, learned a lot and decided that maybe this is for me. So, I started talking all the prerequisite science sources which I also really liked.

Probably, I went through 3/4th of my 3rd year in college, and I really decided this is what I wanted to try and do. So I applied to dental school and I got in and now I'm here. I'm really happy that it worked this way.

As far as joining the practice it has been a great experience. Everyone that worked here is really experienced and they all help me so much, I have learned so much since I have been here, and it made my transition really easy from dental school into dentistry.

Also, we have some really good mentors, my dad Dr. Rolfes, Dr. Do, and Dr. Dunne, are all wonderful dentists and its been great being able to learn and work with them as well.

What a refreshing experience. You won't find a friendlier or more experienced crew than those working at this office. You can tell you are in a special place the second you walk into the reception. Every single staff member gives you the royal treatment. Can't give this office and the crew working there any higher praise. Thad M.
